Thank you so much to everyone who came to the protest this morning against the proposed changes to the Langley Park secondary admissions policy. These changes would set up a feeder school system at the expense of other local primary schools and thereby exclude many local children each year from the secondary schools.

We counted more than 400 people - not bad for a cold Monday morning in January straight after the Christmas break! Particular mention to our photographer and the organiser of the Mexican wave ðŸ¤£. And to the children too, who put so much work into their placards, banners and chants of “Local schools for local kids!”

Thank you as well to all those who couldn’t make it on the day but sent messages of support and/or have been helping in other ways.

We may be in this for the long haul. Even though powerful bodies such as Bromley Council, for example, are against these changes, it it is not their decision. If you would like to get more involved or feel you have knowledge or skills to offer, then please do get in touch.

Finally, and most importantly, please do review the consultation notice (available on the Langley Park website) and please respond to the consultation before the deadline of 24 January. That is the only way to get your point of view included formally in the consultation process. We can no longer share the link on Facebook it seems but below is a screenshot of the Langley Park website. Thank you!
